When you are trying to get a handle on your finances, it can feel like you’re not able to do anything fun, right?

Wrong!

You may have to look a little harder to find things that don’t cost any money but I promise, they exist! Here are a few ideas to get you started!

  • Go for a picnic at a local park. Some might even have a splash pad or creek to play in!

  • Go for a walk in your neighborhood. Slow down and enjoy what you don’t normally see when you’re in a car.

  • Read a book - get the book from the library for free!

  • Speaking of libraries, check out the free classes and activities yours offers.

  • Take a nap!

  • Get creative in the kitchen - have a Chopped-like dinner challenge. Make tonight’s meal from random ingredients in your pantry!

  • Go for a hike - leave the electronics and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views!

  • Look for free community events. Check Facebook events and local groups to find ones near you.

  • Go Geocaching - basically scavenger hunts! Fun for all ages (my husband and I do them!) and you may discover a new place you didn’t know about!

  • Play a board game or do a puzzle. I’m a huge jigsaw puzzle fan! But we also have a game night with friends every so often. Bonus is that we do it potluck style and share dinner together!

  • Organize that closet or drawer you’ve been meaning to get to for ages.

What are some of your favorite no cost activities?
